An exciting opportunity to join the Planning team within the Strategic Planning and Analytics Group. The role holder will support academic departments with resourcing, planning, and developing meaningful and actionable strategies, which are central to the success of the broader University. The role provides a range of administrative support and advice to the Academic Resourcing Committee (ARC), to academic departments, and to the Strategic Planning & Analytics Team and wider Group.
The role holder will support Academic Resourcing Committee (ARC)-related activity and processes throughout the year, with a particular emphasis on the ARC Annual Planning round, and strategy development and review. The role will involve the creation and maintenance of data and information to inform policy creation, change and implementation, providing advice to the ARC members, and academic and central departments.
The role has a clear impact on the creation and review of departmental and institutional strategy. There is also a clerical aspect to the role including: support for and ownership of secretariat duties for formal University committees and working groups related to academic resourcing; interpreting and providing advice on university policy and governance matters; and responding to queries on ARC-related business.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Supporting the academic departments with resourcing, planning, and developing meaningful and actionable strategies, is central to the success of the broader University. This role, therefore, provides a range of administrative support to the Academic Resourcing and Planning team within the Strategic Planning & Analytics Group. This includes support for ARC related activity and processes, and maintenance of data and information to inform Strategy Development and Review, and Academic Resourcing Committee decision making. Whilst this role has a clear impact on institutional strategy, there is also a clerical aspect to this role including: organising meetings; preparing agendas and notes; responding to queries on ARC related business; and directing enquiries to the most appropriate person, where needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Organising meetings and invitations for ARC related processes (including, but not limited to, Academic Resourcing Committee (ARC), ARC Executive, ARC Strategy Development with academic departments, ARC Annual Planning Round, and Fees Working Group).
2. Supporting and servicing ARC and its meetings, including Strategy Development and Review, in accordance with agreed turnaround times. Responsibilities include the distribution of agenda and papers, record keeping, uploading relevant documents to shared online spaces, maintenance of membership lists, and following up on actions.
3. Developing, maintaining, and updating systems for administration and record keeping purposes, including updating the shared document library, team email account, calendar and relevant web and intranet pages.
4. Undertaking desk research to contribute to a suite of data and analytics that informs departmental strategy development and review.
5. Contributing to policy development and the continuous improvement of ARC processes, whilst supporting associated projects and initiatives.
6. Providing clerical support to colleagues in the SP&A Planning team, as agreed with Line Manager, to ensure achievement of team objectives.
7. To carry out other tasks as required by the Senior Assistant Registrar or the Director of the Strategic Planning and Analytics Group.
