We have an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Data Analytics Specialist.
Reporting to the Director of Administration for the Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD), the position will oversee all IHDD initiatives that involve data collection, management, and analysis to meet a diverse range of IHDD needs. Their responsibilities include extracting clinical data from UWMC Epic, utilizing and comprehending data from UW systems, gathering data from UW and federal systems, enhancing central systems, exploring, and recommending techniques for monitoring policy concerns, and serving as a source of guidance for Research Affiliates and UCEDD programs.
Position will be lead for all data management and analytics for IHDD, one of the nation's largest and most comprehensive interdisciplinary research and training centers focusing on a wide array of developmental disabilities. More than 600 University of Washington faculty and staff members, as well as numerous doctoral and post-doctoral students, perform clinical services, interdisciplinary clinical and research training, and technical assistance and outreach training to community practitioners and community agencies.
Nearly 150 grants and contracts are affiliated with the IHDD annually.
Over 2000 clients are serviced by IHDD Clinical Service Programs annually.
Thousands of professionals in the community are trained each year by IHDD faculty and staff.
The IHDD is home to hundreds of faculty and staff all working towards a common goal to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families. These faculty and staff represent multiple disciplines from multiple UW departments. This position will lead data analytic efforts to support the interdisciplinary nature of the IHDD.

- Experience with Epic Clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis including querying standard databases using SQL.
- Strong programming skills in Python and R.
- Strong understanding of data mining and statistical analysis techniques.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and/or PowerBI.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Experience with UW systems such as Workday, EDW, DAWG, Space Databases.
- Experience with NIHReporter, MYNCBI, and other federal and UW data systems.
- Previous experience in and knowledge of academic healthcare systems and/or operational environments.
