This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule that combines working from home with regular in-office and/or community presence.

In-person work requirements may change for training, meetings, and other operational needs.

Employees must reside at a location that allows for reasonable response time to workplace reporting requirements. Daytime travel within Ohio may be required.

Who We Are:
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. It is accomplished through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD). A fourth area is the Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS), which is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers.

What is a Data Analytics Specialist and what do they do?
Broadly, as a member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Data and Reporting Unit at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, this position will: collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders; analyze Vocational Rehabilitation data to detect meaningful patterns; conduct statistical analysis of Vocational Rehabilitation data; monitor key performance indicators; research business problems; develop and test predictive models; identify business risks and opportunities; provide business insights and recommendations; provide meaningful summary reports, including data visualizations; communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences; provide training within area of expertise; assist with monitoring and resolving ServiceNow tickets; provide actionable business recommendations and solutions

Qualifications


Completion of graduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;
AND 12 months' experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.

OR

Completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; AND 24 months' experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.

OR

Completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; AND 30 months' experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.

OR

48 months' experience in data analytics or statistical analysis.

OR

Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.


Knowledge of: employee training & development*, agency policies & procedures*, data analytics, statistical analysis, data visualization software. Skill in: Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis software, statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS), business intelligence (BI) & data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos), coding and reporting (e.g., Python, R). Ability to: acquire data from multiple sources, work with structured and unstructured data, understand somewhat abstract field of study, deal with many variables & determine specific action, use statistical analysis, use proper research methods in gathering data, develop complex reports, gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things.
