Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Kirby Muxloe - LE9 2BJ

Salary: Up to £25,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for a technically strong and analytical Management Accountant to join a national retailer. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the group financial reporting requirements, the financial and tax reporting as well as supporting the financial governance and controls for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities for the role :

• As part of a team support the production monthly and year-end accounts
• Support the monthly management accounts process
• Support the year-end reporting and audit process (group & statutory)
• Support the Financial Controller in managing the legal entity financial reporting and taxation obligations for the group, including consolidation
• Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Working with internal, external tax auditors, consultants and other service providers
• Play a role in developing a strong finance and accounting team
• Drive improvements and efficiencies and raise financial awareness across the business
• Project work to build business and improve streamline systems, processes and controls

The ideal candidate will have:

• High attention to detail & ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Strong analytical skills, ability to identify & solve ambiguous problems & design models
• Experience in a group structure with multiple entities
• Experience in an ERP system as part of a finance team – posting journals, running reports, running TB’s into Excel
• Double entry booking keeping experience essential
• Balance sheet reconciliations with experience of clearing up reconciling items
• Preferred but not essential experience in implementation of Financial Reporting Systems
• Experience with standard costing preferred
• Good time management skills and ability to work both within a team and under their own initiative
• ACA /ACCA/CIMA part qualified or relevant Finance degree, with a clear willingness to complete the qualification
