Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.
As a Data Scientist on our Trust & Safety team, you will work closely with product managers, program managers and the algorithm team to identify root causes and appropriate strategies. You will be proactively researching, analysing and providing key metrics and dashboards that will influence trust and safety decisions, and together with the team protect our communities on the platform.
It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.
Some content viewed may violate our community guidelines which include but are not limited to bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; murder.
What will I be doing?
- You'll drive quantitative analysis projects from start to finish, including developing metrics and analytical frameworks and distilling complex results into clear and concise insights;
- You'll support the strategic planning and execution for long term business plans through in-depth research, industry studies and the study of market trends;
- You'll design and establish indicator systems for safety and risks of the platform, monitor and optimize risk coverage in each link, measure the performance of content safety strategies and facilitate decision-making.
- You'll think proactively to identify, detect, and mitigate risks in our community ecology, and help devise strategies to combat them.
What should I bring with me?
- You have a proven background in quantitative analysis
- You have experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches (e.g. Python, R)
- You have proven experience leading data-driven projects from definition to execution, from defining metrics to communicating actionable insights.
- You are an expert experience pulling large and complex data using SQL & data visualization tools (Mode Analytics, Chartio, Tableau)
- Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.
