The Camlin Academy Placement Programme is a 1-year programme. You will be given responsibility and opportunities to add value from day one and appointed a mentor to support you in your training.


WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY

The successfully appointed you will support the Customer Performance team in cross checking data bases for fault record information. You will gain a good understanding of electrical distribution networks, fault-finding processes and the impact of low carbon technologies on electrical networks. You will be keen to use new systems to find out information on historical fault activity and record the outputs in a well presented fashion.

You will have an eye for detail and be able to cross reference data sets to find inconsistencies or clues to the status of the network. You will be able to undertake some data analytics and have the opportunity to bring new skills into the team.


RESPONSIBILITES

You will join an existing team who focus on the performance of our customers. We respond to daily queries from customers about electrical fault cases as well as providing ongoing performance analysis. We use data from multiple systems and create insights and dashboards in systems such as Tableau. We use insights from our AI team to support customers in the management of developing faults on the network.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • You will need to be a second-year student from a 3rd level qualification seeking an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in business. Be working toward a numerate degree and have an interest in the energy sector and data science.
  • Good IT skills are required as well at the capability to learn new systems and a desire to grow your skills with new applications.
  • Curiosity and persistence as the role will include aspects of problem solving and creating insights from disparate sets of data.
  • Attention to detail as outputs are often customer facing.


DESIRED CRITERIA

The following skills will be valuable but are not essential:

  • Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Advantageous to have any coding, GIS or database query writing
  • Good communication skills are essential as the role will include new concepts and working across different business functions
  • The person who fills this role must be able to manage and prioritise tasks
  • An interest of sustainability, renewable energy and the transition to Net Zero is advantageous.
