Position: Data Scientist (KTP Associate)
Based at: I Want Plants, Cheshire
Salary: £41,000
The role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a recent graduate to work full time on a 2-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to develop novel data science capabilities to understand the benefits arising from living green infrastructure.
Employed and supported by an academic team from the University, you will work in a hybrid model, both from home and at I Want Plants' premises in Cheshire.

Qualifications we require:
A 2:1 hons degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Data Science, or an equivalent field. A higher qualification in a field such as Artificial Intelligence would be advantageous.
Application requirements:
- Cloud Computing services, such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of breadth of programming languages (R, Python, etc.) and API development
- Data architecture and distributed system design
- Artificial Intelligence / machine learning; supervised/unsupervised deep learning techniques (deep neural network, recurrent neural network), hyperparameter tuning, and Deep Reinforcement Learning (Deep Q-Network)
- Knowledge and experience in the use of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
- Data engineering and analytics
- Software development, including user experience (UX) design, data visualisation and dashboards
- Environmental and/or ecological understanding
