Elevate is BRE’s fast-track development programme in becoming a subject specialist and supporting us in being industry leaders in the built environment. Why does the role exist?
Do you wish to pursue a career in an industry that offers opportunities to make a positive change to the homes and buildings we occupy, the communities we’re part of, and the environment we live in?
As a Data Scientist Graduate, you’ll join our Housing Data and Insights team, working alongside a multi-disciplinary skilled group of data analysts, data scientists, building experts, and consultants; all of whom share a common passion to drive actionable data and insights to improve the way we live in our homes.

We provide guidance and advice on techniques and technologies to effectively manage energy-use in dwellings; improve the quality of the existing housing stock, including geographical disparities, and further understand the characteristics of households who live in poorer quality housing.
Our work uses data, statistical modelling, machine learning and visual analytics to provide insights and guidance, which are used by our clients to tackle the major challenges they face in the housing and energy sectors.

- Opportunities to network with colleagues across the business to share knowledge and develop strong inter-personal skills.
- Leading meetings, workshops, and conversations with colleagues across the directorate.
- Opportunities to be involved in different stages of project management, development and delivery.
- Model upgrades to introduce efficiencies across our national housing surveys and local authority clients.
- Increase client satisfaction with automation, continuously improving accuracy from reporting where possible.
