Job description

Exciting opportunity for a talented Data Scientist with 3-5 years’ experience with strong machine learning and development skills. This role will suit someone who is very much product-driven and understands how to communicate and interact with clients. You will need a good understanding of building and deploying models within different tools, and you should have an inquiring mind that seeks to answer business questions.

The ideal candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise, along with natural curiosity, to deliver insights on a frequent basis. You will need to have experience of the data science process, including requirements gathering, data pre-processing, modelling, testing, deployment, and operationalisation/monitoring in production.

You will be relied on to ask questions and connect the dots to help uncover insights for a startup data business with unique data assets.We offer an environment where you will be able to experiment, derive applicable data science use cases, and implement innovative solutions to recognise patterns. You will be working closely with the Research Lead, along with Research Analysts and the Engineering team to drive the data science process to answer complex business questions from diverse and challenging datasets.

Good communication and project and task management skills are essential for this role, as well an ability to acquire new skills quickly, take ownership of the data science function. Any experience of behavioural analytics and an understanding of the scientific ecosystem (publications, conferences, awards) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Client-facing and product-driven analyses.
  • Conducting hypothesis and experiments.
  • Developing data science use cases per business need.
  • Developing new models, training, testing, and validating.
  • Conducting data cleaning tasks, creating derived data, and supporting database enrichment.
  • Track and communicate issues to technology leadership team.
  • Document the delivered solutions at the technical and business level.
  • Storing, maintaining, and monitoring model versions

Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a data scientist.
  • Have experience presenting to clients and developing the product process.
  • Excellent communication skills in communicating ideas and creative concepts.
  • Strong python skills and working with a variety of machine learning libraries.
  • Good knowledge of NLP and transformers.
  • Knowledge of deep learning.
  • Clustering and Similarity Models
  • Good SQL skills and Data framing.
  • Understanding of code versioning and model maintenance.
  • Experience in working in virtual teams and being in constant collaboration.
  • Well organised, delivering work to a brief and to a deadline, sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take ownership for key services.

Nice to Have

  • Experience using AWS Sagemaker and MLOps.
  • SaaS Product Background.
  • Generative AI.
  • Understanding of talent, people analytics, social network analysis.
  • Experience in behavioural analytics.
  • Experience with graph theory/database for exploring relationships across multiple datasets.

Salary

Up to £50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Hours

We operate a remote-first policy with in-person collaboration twice a week in a central London location. You must be able to commute to central London on a regular basis.
