Our international STEM program is open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The STEM program educates students from preschool to high school. SMAC specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Math Professor to teach during our 6 week Pre-University STEM Innovation Summer Program at York University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of medical science courses, with a focus on Sohcahtoa, Functions, Physics, Trigonometry, and Introductory Data Science. You will contribute to curriculum development, research, and the academic success of our students ages 10 - 17.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Instruction:
· Introduce students to the world of medical science teaching introduction to medical science classes, practices, and principles in the medical science field, with a focus on teaching 1 hour modules in Sohcahtoa, Functions, Physics, Trigonometry, and Introductory Data Science
· Develop and deliver lectures, assignments, and projects that meet course objectives for 1 week, 25 hours of course material. 6 - 8 hours on each subject.
· Employ innovative teaching strategies to reach students of diverse learning styles.
Curriculum Development:
· Assist in the development and revision of our company’s class syllabus and class outlines containing learning objectives and learning outcomes for the 24 hours of learning for the week.
· Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and advancements to ensure the curriculum aligns with the current demands of the field.
Student Mentorship:
· Provide academic guidance and support to students during office hours or by appointment.
· Supervise student projects, theses, and research activities.
· Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
· MUST currently be a teacher, professor, or associate professor in the field of Math at a post secondary institution in Canada.
· Demonstrated teaching experience in some or all of the subjects Sohcahtoa, Functions, Physics, Trigonometry, and Introductory Data Science.
· Record of knowledge, degree and/or research in the field of Math.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment.
· Experience in participating in a pre-university program as asset but not required.

- July 3 - 7, 2023: 22-24 hours per week Monday - Friday
- July 17 - 21, 2023: 22=24 hours per week Monday - Friday
- July 31 - Aug 4, 2023: 22-24 per week hours Monday - Friday
