We have an exciting opportunity to work on a collaborative project between Caja Limited and Staffordshire University. Caja Limited (https://cajagroup.com) is a leading innovative business services consultancy, creating and leading out core competencies across public, private, health and education markets. The aim of this Knowledge Transfer Partnership (https://www.ktp-uk.org/graduates/) funded by InnovateUK is to develop an innovative and predictive Risk Stratification tool to enable care organisations to maximise the use of Digital Care Technologies. The aim is to proactively promote people's independence and Prevent, Reduce and Delay their need for more traditional and costly care packages.
Working closely with Caja Limited and academics at Staffordshire University, the successful candidate will lead all aspects of the project including prototype, software and algorithm development, testing and evaluation in a representative real-world environment. The role will also require project planning, reporting, academic dissemination and embedding the acquired knowledge into Caja Limited.
The candidate will be expected to have a strong honours degree or a master’s degree in data science, machine learning, a related field or equivalent experience. The role will require excellent organisational, written and oral communications skills with the ability to problem solve, communicate complex concepts, produce regular concise reports and academic research papers.
The candidate will require to demonstrate skills, attributes, and experience in the following areas:
- Knowledge of coding in Phyton, R-Language or a similar environment. Experience of using data science programming libraries such as Pandas or NumPy would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of application tools that could be used to support the decision-making process and production of actionable Intelligence.
- Strong communication skills, being able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
- Prepared to fully participate in the commitment of the company to achieving the goals of the project.
- Interest in and passion for analytics and data science with an appetite for creating solutions to support decision making in Health & Social Care
- An understanding of the basics of predictive techniques and/or statistics
The project will be based at Caja Limited at Keele University Science Park in Staffordshire. There will also be a requirement to work at Staffordshire University Campus in Stoke-on-Trent on occasion and to potentially work at Caja client sites. As part of the role, the successful candidate will receive a personal training and development budget.
