Job Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Scientist to join a dynamic team of Protect People, who can take ownership of everything regarding data, the analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities and insights from our data sets.

The industries which we work across and can be considered relevant experience include: Events, Travel, Hospitality, Transportation, Fin-tech, Insur-tech, Financial Services.
We would expect you to be a natural innovator with an entrepreneurial spirit and attention to detail, and who has a real hunger to deliver intelligent insights to our various teams within the business to achieve commercial objectives.
You will be responsible for owning your role and will work closely with our Chief Product and Chief Technology Officers. As the Data Scientist/Analyst , your insights and analyses will be instrumental in shaping our pricing & content strategies, engagement tactics and to help optimize our customer experiences. Your findings will empower our teams and direct our machine learning algorithms to make well-informed decisions that resonate with our online audience. Experience across the above industries or any disruptive technology brand would be advantageous but not essential as long as you have a strong work ethic and be always willing to learn.
Responsibilities & Delivery:
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights related to our consumers’ behaviours and pricing dynamics, from our vast online datasets.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define product strategies that increase competitiveness and profitability.
- Develop models and algorithms to forecast demand and optimize pricing decisions.
- Craft visually compelling dashboards and reports that communicate statistical and empirical analytics on portfolio performance, customer behaviour, and process effectiveness.
- Act as a subject matter expert on data and fostering a culture of data-driven excellence.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven expertise in data analysis within an e-commerce or online business context.
- Commercially minded, thinking about ways to increase revenue & profitability.
- Proficiency in data manipulation tools (Python, Pandas, Spark, SQL) and data visualization tools (Apache Superset, Tableau, Power BI, ggplot2) and MS Excel.
- Grasp of pricing strategies, market dynamics, and consumer behaviour in the online space is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey complex insights with clarity.
- You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, and agile environment, capable of adapting to change and other duties with a positive can-do attitude.
- Creative, thinking outside the box to deliver innovative solutions to problems.
- Self-motivated, passionate, innovative and well organised.
- Fluent English is a requirement of the role.
