We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in the Geospatial sector. As a Data Scientist, you will develop statistical models, algorithms, and data products to enhance our business capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in driving innovation and achieving our technology and product roadmaps.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and operationalize data processing and machine learning analyses.
- Monitor model performance, data accuracy, and diagnose issues.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and models.
- Lead quality assurance processes and contribute to commercial projects.
- Communicate statistical and data science models to non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with domain experts, engineers, and developers.
- Implement standards for data analysis, model improvement, and validation.
- Engage in the innovation process, driving novel products and automation.
- Support the Head of Research in overcoming potential roadblocks.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Previous experience integrating new datasets and models to develop data products.
- Proficiency in version control, code productization, and parallel coding.
- Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills in R/Python.
- Strong decision-making abilities based on data analysis.
- Familiarity with raster data, geospatial processing, and associated libraries (e.g., rasterio, GDAL, SNAP, rioxarray, shapely, geopandas, etc.) is a plus.
- Proactive mindset, challenging the status quo for better outcomes.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and implementation skills.
- Strong communication skills, promoting collaboration and continual improvement.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to influence and build networks at all levels.
- Accountable and takes ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
