Harnham is working exclusively with this data and analytics powerhouse, renowned for the work they have done in the space. The Data Scientist will be well versed in SQL and Python for statistical modelling and will use this to drive business success.
THE ROLE:
They are looking for an experienced Analyst to join our client in a broad analytical role that requires a balance of technical and client-facing skills. In this role, you will engage with clients to understand their business questions and conduct analysis to deliver clear and compelling results. You will take responsibility for gathering data, interpreting it into insights, and deploying data science and machine learning algorithms using Python, SQL, Spark, and Hadoop. Your responsibilities will include:
- Using cutting-edge data science and machine learning methodologies to tackle complex business problems and deliver insights that resonate with our clients.
- Working on the best data set in the FMCG industry, using advanced analytical capabilities and benefiting from the learning of our large number Data Scientists globally.
- Investigate and implement the most appropriate analytical techniques for each project, re-using and further developing global solutions or code written by others.
- Deploy data science and machine learning algorithms and market products on chosen tech stack for efficient and cost-effective delivery.
- Engage directly with the client and to engage in technical skills to bring answers to their questions. Exceptional communication and consultancy skills are required in addition to technical proficiency.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The Data Scientist will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience as an analyst
- Exceptional communication skills and experience presenting to clients
- Passion for connecting work directly to the customer experience, making a real and tangible impact
- Experience handling large data volumes with modern data processing tools, such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, and Python
- Analytical proficiency in statistical modeling, programming (Python, SQL, R, etc.), desk research, prototyping, quality assurance and testing, data interpretation/insight analysis, data visualization, and insight storytelling
- Ability to work in a hybrid role that requires a balance of technical competency and client-facing skills
- Motivation to engage with clients to understand their business questions and conduct analysis to deliver clear and compelling results.
BENEFITS:
The successful Data Scientist will receive a salary up to £60,000 based upon experience. On top of this, the successful candidate will receive a 10% bonus, a great holiday allowance, a fantastic working culture, as well as other benefits.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
The interview process has two stages, both ideally in person in the London office. The process is as follows:
- Technical interview
- Task/Presentation interview
