Job description

As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in optimizing our supply chain, improving inventory management, and driving strategic business decisions.


In This Role


  • Lead and provide oversight in gathering complex and often unique business requirements by partnering with customers to define the business problem and data needs.
  • Utilize an expert understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead or direct the development and implementation of analytic solutions, which may include data collection, wrangling, and visualization.
  • Develop and implement demand forecasting models and methodologies to optimize inventory management and ensure product availability across multiple channels.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and external factors to identify patterns, correlations, and demand drivers.
  • Utilize statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and other advanced analytical methods to build predictive models that enhance demand forecasting accuracy.
  • Monitor and evaluate demand forecasts against actual sales performance, identifying and analyzing deviations and proposing corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve and refine forecasting models through model evaluation, testing, and data validation, incorporating new data sources as appropriate.

The Ideal Person


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Data Scientist, with a focus on demand forecasting in the consumer goods industry.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical modeling techniques, time series analysis, regression analysis, and forecasting algorithms.
  • Experience visual programing data science tools (e.g., Knime, Alteryx)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
  • Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and experience applying them to real-world business problems.
  • Proficient in data visualization techniques and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of supply chain dynamics, consumer behavior, and market trends in the consumer goods industry.
