As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in optimizing our supply chain, improving inventory management, and driving strategic business decisions.

In This Role

Lead and provide oversight in gathering complex and often unique business requirements by partnering with customers to define the business problem and data needs.
Utilize an expert understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead or direct the development and implementation of analytic solutions, which may include data collection, wrangling, and visualization.
Develop and implement demand forecasting models and methodologies to optimize inventory management and ensure product availability across multiple channels.
Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and external factors to identify patterns, correlations, and demand drivers.
Utilize statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and other advanced analytical methods to build predictive models that enhance demand forecasting accuracy.
Monitor and evaluate demand forecasts against actual sales performance, identifying and analyzing deviations and proposing corrective actions.
Continuously improve and refine forecasting models through model evaluation, testing, and data validation, incorporating new data sources as appropriate.

The Ideal Person

Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
Proven experience (5 years) as a Data Scientist, with a focus on demand forecasting in the consumer goods industry.
Strong proficiency in statistical modeling techniques, time series analysis, regression analysis, and forecasting algorithms.
Experience visual programing data science tools (e.g., Knime, Alteryx)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and experience applying them to real-world business problems.
Proficient in data visualization techniques and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights and trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong business acumen and understanding of supply chain dynamics, consumer behavior, and market trends in the consumer goods industry.
