Data Science, Customer Analytics II

We are seeking an analyst to join our Global Marketing Analytics Team, supporting customer analytics for some of the world’s leading online travel brands. This will be an individual contributor role supporting senior leadership andvarious marketing stakeholderswithin the ExpediaGroup.The team looks after all things ‘Customer’ in a very highlyvisible role supporting many factions of thebuisness.
This role will be supporting key business decisions on customer analytics and economics. This will involve uncovering customer friction points, acquisition costs, hypothesis generation and prioritization, experimentation design, valid and impartial test analysis, and recommendations.
What you’ll do:
Extracts data from multiple data sources and combine into the required datasets for model building and analytics.Comfortable with big data
Applies software design principles, data structures, algorithmsand computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimizedand modular with good naming conventions for analytics or machine learning.Applies a range of common statistical methods to business problems including frequentist and Bayesian statistics.
Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, data visualization with a goal of improving customer experience and business results with a religious focus on impactful analytics, steward product team to drive insights
Own Customer economics valuation and analysis, build analysis to parse impact of customer actions, understand and help build customer acquisition and customer lifetime value modeling work.
Contribute to metrics framework development, build accurate and easy to consume dashboards/reports, collaborate with the product teams in goal setting, product performance review and strategy planning
Work with senior leaders at the business to unpack some of the most impactful questions at EG. Work on a highly visible projects with a great deal of autonomy
Who you are:
An established performer who consistently applies analytics capabilities, principles and playbooks to solve business issues and opportunities, with a moderate level of guidance and directionand built and maintained a data science project/product in production environments
Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or equivalent experience. Mathematics, Scientific, Statistics or Technical degree preferred.
Is familiar and/or interested in customer behavior - understanding and quantifying drivers of value, customer acquisition cost & long term value.
Experience with visualization/business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI and is able to create complex calculations using advanced features.
Experience in statistical/predictive modeling, computational systems, and operation research and optimization techniques
Strong SQL skills, is able to fetch, manipulate and automate big data manipulation tasks
Experience in Programming Language (R, Pythonor Scala), and Excel experience is required
Experience with digital analytics tools i.e. Adobe Analytics, and experience with BI tools i.e. Tableau, Power BI
A strong analytical attitude and skills, including the ability to break down complex scenarios into constituent parameters
You can communicate the results of analyses and complex concepts in a compelling way
A sharp focus on getting results and insights using the most practical and fastest approach
Curiosity and enthusiasm for making an impact along with strong attention to detail
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $105,000 to $148,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $169,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
