We are seeking to recruit a Data Scientist, who will deliver impactful analytical products as part of an analytical service to the Trust’s clinicians and operational staff. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to help build the Trusts’ data science capabilities and drive the way the Trust uses analytics to improve operational performance and patient care. You will be part of the Business Informatics Team who focus on providing analysis to help the Trust become an insight-driven organisation and to enable it to self-serve its data needs.
We are looking for a data scientist with strong technical skills in managing data and working with data warehouse environments, developing business intelligence products (including interactive visual reports), data modelling, and producing analysis using statistical software (e.g. R and Python). The Data Scientist will use their technical skills to implement statistical analysis, develop simulation models, data visualisation, and automated reporting solutions. Previous experience of the NHS is desirable but not essential. However, you will be highly numerate, an excellent problem solver, a logical thinker, and comfortable communicating analysis.
We welcome applications from students finishing or in the process of finishing their Master in Data Analysis/Data Science or similar discipline.
- You will work with the Head of Analytics to provide analysis of complex data sets, developing specialist analytics skills to min, analyse and model data to provide specialist advice to the wider Trust and develop the Business Informatics Team’s data science capabilities.
- You will provide a specialist analytics business intelligence function to operational and clinical colleagues across the Trust, producing analysis and visual reports that meets the analytical needs of end users of Trust data, communicating analysis with clarity and impact.
- You will provide specialist knowledge and practice skills in the implementation of analytical techniques (including statistical analysis, predictive modelling and forecasting, and mining of data) to support Business Informatics colleagues deliver an effective business intelligence function to the Trust.
