Local Unit & Position Description:
Our UK and Ireland Markets & Risk (M&R) department combines multidisciplinary experts from oil & gas, power, and renewable energy backgrounds to support companies and assets throughout their Energy Transition journey, through providing specialist advice in the following areas:

  • Finance & Transactions

Split across three core sections (Sustainability & Asset Resilience, Energy Strategy Advisory and Transactions & Business Advisory), joining our rapidly growing department provides you with the perfect opportunity to develop your career in a technical and business consulting environment.

Our Opportunity:
As a data scientist within our M&R department and working across the three sections, you’ll be responsible for developing innovative solutions for internal and external purposes, working on climate change projects and developing mathematical and statistical models for solving clients/projects requirements as well as for internal developments. The team operates in many industry sectors, but with particular focus on midstream and downstream O&G, power generation and distribution (including traditional gas generation, biogas, biomass, Energy from Waste) and energy transitions (e.g. Hydrogen, CCS/CCUS, Ammonia, etc).

You’ll find that the nature of your work is varied, challenging and fast paced as you manage or contribute to the delivery of projects for our clients, supported by a multi-disciplinary team and collaborating with colleagues across DNV ’s services, leveraging our broader technical expertise and global footprint.

  • Typical candidates will bring demonstrable technical experience in data analytics, Climate change modelling, statistical analysis, Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Energy Market Analysis, Data Visualization.
  • Strong academic background in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • Excellent report writing, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible attitude to working in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Creative, analytical and solution orientated, demonstrating the ability to interpret data, generate insights and provide recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate with others and plan and prioritise activities, to deliver against competing/tight deadlines
