The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering innovative and customer-centric data solutions, with a focus on hands-on execution and quick delivery of reports and insights.
The Data Scientist will be expected to provide analytical and statistical expertise across Collinson group. Stakeholders will include both internal and external clients from across the Collinson group’s global footprint. This role will also be responsible for bringing in the innovation into the team, hence bringing innovation for the entire Collinson group using Machine learning, Deep Learning technology and other framework. Data Scientist will also be responsible for the mentoring junior members of the team and help them get up to speed in short amount of time. A key part of this role is to help Data team to manage the growing team better. This role will have include a lot of interaction with the stakeholder and external client, so Data scientist needs to be both technical and people based.
Key responsibilities:
The Data Scientist will work across a number of divisions working with datasets from marketing, ecommerce and financial services within the Collinson group in addition to data sourced from clients in external organisations.
The Data Scientist will work on all aspects of the design, development and delivery of data products including problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and visualization, feature engineering, experimenting with algorithms, machine learning, evaluating and comparing metrics, deploying models, iteratively improving the solution and building the tools for this process etc. You will work with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources in both batch and streaming modes, and potentially various formats including tabular, audio, text and time series
Day to Day Activities will include:
- Working on all stages of projects (planning, development, quality control, production)
- Design, build and ongoing maintenance of our strategic platform and tooling.
- Converting proof-of-concept projects to enterprise solutions
- Exploring customer, transactional, pricing, text based data
- Producing machine learning models including supervised and unsupervised methods
- Producing reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Rapidly prototyping proof-of-concept idea
- Managing our infrastructure in AWS
- Being instrumental in architecting and executing solutions
Knowledge skills and experience:
- Knowledge of common data science techniques including data preparation, exploration and visualisation
- Knowledge of data mining techniques in one or more areas of statistical modelling methods, time series, text mining, optimization, information retrieval
- Ability to produce workflows using classification, clustering, regression, and dimensionality reduction
- Ability to prototype statistical analysis and modelling algorithms and apply these algorithms for data driven solutions to problems in new domains
