Your role in the team
As part of the Rotational Program, you will have the opportunity to develop, gain hands-on experience in 3 analytics positions over the course of one year:
Business Analytics Consultant – In this rotation, you will gain experience in portfolio, program and project management. You will work through strategy and process consulting with business partners/stakeholders and gain insight as to analyzing and presenting data.
Data Science – This rotation will provide exposure to processes industry-related to Data Science. Here, you will learn about collecting data, performing exploratory data analysis, decision modelling, and business application. You will be introduced to the various tools used in these processes and how to apply data to practical business applications.
Data Analytics Engineer – This portion of the program will focus on the Tools, Theory, and Social aspects for Data Analytics Engineering. At Allstate we have a lot of data. You will gain experience in creating data pipelines so that we can continue to improve customer and employee experience.
In addition to the technical skills you will learn in your rotations, our program will pair you with a peer mentor and leader mentor so you can begin building relationships and networking at Allstate. We also have structured Lunch N’ Learns and Coffee Chats on an array of topics from Insurance Industry best-practices to the latest in technology trends. We also host session on developing soft skills like, how to expand communication skills and more!
Data, Discovery, and Decision Science (D3) is the research and analytics organization at Allstate. In D3, you’ll be surrounded by 360+ tenacious and intellectually curious colleagues in an inclusive culture that encourages you to take risks, challenge the status quo and shape the future for the greater good. So, what are the essential criteria to apply?
- All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
- Final year of a STEM Bachler's Degree, on track for 2.1 or higher.
- Have completed a STEM Master’s Degree by June 2023
We also have some desirable criteria
- Prior internship/placement experience in a data science related field.
- Proven experience in general purpose programming such as Python, Scala, Java or C/C++
Interns who successfully complete their one-year internship with Allstate Northern Ireland may be made offers of permanent employment with Allstate at the end of their internship subject to an end of year assessment.
