About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst who will report to the Finance Business Partner in the UK Logistics team. This role is hybrid, currently in the office two days a week (one team day and one day flexi). You'll be responsible for taking ownership of your P&L area, understanding the costs and budget drivers and developing flash reporting to give greater insight to your business stakeholders. Main tasks include period end close activities, providing commentary on the management account lines you're responsible for, working to the general ledger close / period end close calendar timelines, balance sheet reconciliation & review, highlighting risks and opportunities where appropriate, making sure audit queries and adjustments are processed swiftly and appropriately and supporting the half year and year end close process. As a finance analyst you will attend stakeholder meetings as and when required allowing you to develop a key commercial understanding of our network and promote the strategic aims of Ocado Logistics.
About you
Qualified CIMA / ACA/ ACCA or equivalent Accountant. You have experience with monthly accounting transactional activities including journal processing, balance sheet reconciliation & review and period close accounting. You are logical, self-motivated and have strong Excel and system skills including mainstream accounting packages e.g. Oracle. You have excellent time management skills and demonstrate high levels of accuracy, thoroughness and reliability whilst coping under pressure is something you excel at whilst also prioritising your work and being flexible in responding to the changing nature of Ocado. You have excellent communication skills to interact across all operational functions of the business, both financial and non-financial and also to question assumptions behind forecasts and budgets.
