Job description

This is an opportunity to apply for a senior development position within the Data Science team. The successful candidate will be recruited at Band 5 where they will begin their training in the use of Data Science techniques and tools, whilst applying them under the guidance of the Senior Data Science Analyst.

They will demonstrate effective communication and learn the application of excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. Alongside this, the candidate will demonstrate the leadership and development skills required to be able to line manage and facilitate the governance of Data Science throughout the team and deliver high quality and accurate outputs.

A training matrix is available for all bands within the Data Science framework to benchmark progress against, from which a personal development plan will be created to achieve the grades required to progress in the development position. The development plan is expected to last up to 24 months and will be reviewed every 6 months to ensure you are aligned to the role expectations and your upskilling will be met by meeting the goals and objectives set by the Senior Data Science Analyst and contributing towards the team objectives.

On satisfaction that you can consistently demonstrate the essential performance ratings of the grade you will be permitted to take the internal DS assessment, which if successful will progress you to the band 6 Senior Data Science Analyst position.

Responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely, value-added analysis to meet the requirements of a data driven Trust.

Proactively developing both quantitative and qualitative indicators to support the requirements of the clinical and corporate divisions.

Manages the Data Science Analysts including workflow, performance management, and personal development.

To be the information lead for a designated area and provide expert support to underpin project work and decision making for the needs of a modern NHS. To promote the effective use of information and reports managed by the Data Science team and wider Business Intelligence department.
