Job description

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the client / other Governance team members, define and deliver Data Quality Frameworks either independently or in conjunction with Metadata Management and Data Governance Frameworks.
  • Advise, develop, implement and support all aspects of Data Quality Management with objective of establishing DQM as a set of services within a BAU team
  • Advise / undertake managing and maintaining data quality through:

o Establishing processes and controls on the flows of data

o Communication, liaison and data / business analysis undertake root cause analysis and identify resolution

o Development / review of data transformation specifications where required or coaching of staff in same to ensure data is of highest quality

o Reviewing data processes and flows – raising / resolving or escalating improvements to data / systems / processes

o Developing / monitoring data quality controls and processes

o Developing / managing Data Quality policies and standards

o Embedding quality by design working with data architects, change management, and business architects

o Developing business rules with data stewards for mapping, controls and profiling

o Data reconciliation where required

o Supporting or leading governance and quality management bodies – working groups, committees, strategy groups

  • Support support the implementation / use of tools such as IDQ, Erwin DQ etc.
  • Perform gap analysis of policies, processes, and capabilities against frameworks or desired target states

o Control Model

o Metamodel

o Monitoring & Reporting

o Processes

  • Have understanding of Data Privacy Management, in particular measurement and monitoring, issue management and risk appetite.
  • Creation, socialising, and implementation of data quality policies (20%) Communication/Organisation
  • Communicates consistently with other team members, leadership and clients outlining progress, deliverables, risks, issues and key decisions
  • Creates reports as required to support stakeholders and project team
  • Support / assist Data management project teams on Data Privacy
  • Coordinates with Project Managers and participates in project planning
  • Creates reports as required to support stakeholders
  • Coach other team members on Data Quality management.

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

  • Minimum 10 years total experience
  • 4+ years of Data Quality experience
  • Experience in Insurance essential
  • Significant experience in Insurance, particular London Market / P&C Insurance, is a must
  • Strong Business and Data Analysis experience
  • Management of teams of analysts
  • Consulting experience would be an advantage
  • Experience working with business and IT functions in a variety of corporate cultures, as both an employee and consultant, is preferred
  • Experienced working in centralised and federated corporate structures
  • Experienced working with multiple levels of client personnel to gather information,
  • Experience in Data Quality / Metadata tools an Advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex data concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in data terms

  • Broad understanding of the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines concurrently.
  • Display a strong client presence with the ability to be an effective trusted advisor.
  • Experience with Data Quality / Governance toolsets such as Erwin DQ, Collibra, Informatica IDQ, Talend etc.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, logical and analytical problem-solving.
  • Advanced understanding of Data Analysis concepts.
  • Working in small teams while navigating politics in large client environments.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to travel for client engagements.
  • Demonstrates ability to create new and innovative solutions to problems that have previously not been encountered.
  • Excels in a fast paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success.

Salary: £50,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
