This role can be based at Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester or London (3 days per week in the office, 2 wherever)

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used within BT. Your primary role will involve evaluating and improving data quality processes, identifying discrepancies, and implementing measures to enhance data integrity.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations to identify the root causes of incidents and failures across various departments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, evidence, and insights related to incidents
  • Utilise analytical methods, tools, and techniques to perform in-depth analyses of incidents and failures
  • Develop comprehensive RCA reports, detailing findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions
  • Work with stakeholders to implement preventive measures and corrective actions to avoid recurrence
  • Analyse failure data, conduct inspections, and collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information
  • Use engineering tools and methodologies to perform thorough analyses of failure scenarios
  • Work with IT teams to resolve data quality issues and inconsistencies, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain data quality dashboards, reports, and metrics to communicate data quality status to relevant stakeholders
  • Define data quality rules and validation checks to proactively identify and prevent data issues
  • Participate in data governance initiatives to enhance data quality processes and best practices


You'll have the following skills & experience

  • Proven experience in conducting Root Cause Analysis investigations
  • Proficiency in RCA methodologies, such as Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
