Our Head Office Data Protection team won ‘Privacy Team of the Year’ at the prestigious PICASSO Privacy Awards.
The team is looking for a confident and methodical individual to support them so they can continue to drive data protection compliance within the organisation whilst enabling the business to meet its objective.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to get great exposure to the world of Data Protection whilst supporting an award winning team. This role will be a central point of contact for many business departments seeking help and advice on tasks and procedural compliance.
In this role, you will lead on a number of topics which contribute to the smooth operations and running of the Data Protection team’s Privacy Compliance Programme. This includes training colleagues, maintaining our Records of Processing Activities and managing external service supplier due diligence to name a few.
We have moved to a hybrid working model with a recommended 2 days in the office per week for appropriate Head Office and Regional roles, empowering our teams to choose how and where they work best. We feel it is important that, where possible, we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible and trust our teams to determine the right environments that work most effectively for them.

What you'll do
Triage all personal data breaches, assessing them and determining remedial steps, escalating to the Data Protection Officer where required.- Maintain all compliance management processes as required, check departments are compliant with outlined procedures and ensure documents are updated.
- Maintain data protection audits in Stores, Regional Distribution Centres & Regional Property Offices. This includes reviewing audit questions tracking findings and following up on remediation action with the business.
- Work with Internal Audit and our Information Security team to plan external service provider audits and ensure these are completed on time.
- Process work tasks from our International counterparts within the required deadline.
- Be the main point of contact for administration relating to our Records of Processing Activities. This involves providing general guidance and training, report creation and meeting regularly with business stakeholders to ensure documented processing activities are fully recorded.
- Lead the department’s training initiatives including e-Learning updates and bespoke training content and delivery. This includes an annual business-wide Data Protection Awareness refresher communication plan using multiple channels to optimise colleague engagement.
- Maintaining the Data Protection email inbox, handling all colleague and customer queries.
- Attend Data Protection meetings with our international counterparts as required.
What you'll need
Excellent organisation, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to analyse existing processes- The ability to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently within tight deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to conduct training to colleagues across the business
- Strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Willingness to travel with the occasional overnight stay
- German language, desirable but not essential
