Job Title: Head of General Ledger Data Product Owner - Data & Machine Learning platform
Location: London Gresham Street or Bristol Harbourside– we work hybrid approach with minimum of 2 days in the office and rest of time from home.

The Data team assigned to the Ledger work is responsible for delivering a multi-million-pound data change programme supporting provision of data for reuse across the Group.
About us
As a General Ledger Data Product Owner within the lab, you’ll be responsible for the release of incremental value from our data products required to fulfil a transformation of the Group’s ledger.
This data will be reused as a foundational building block to support across the ledger scope and function in Commercial and Consumer Banking, plus our Insurance, Pensions, and Investments businesses. As such the data will be used to support outcomes in other corporate functions such as Credit Risk.
Core purpose of the role
We want our Product Owners to stimulate innovation in how we provision data for insight and analytics whilst mitigating risk. You'll realise value for Group analytical users and the data science community by ensuring that teams are working on the right priorities; encouraging collaborative and empowered teams and nurturing them to take ownership. Development and increment of patterns to support consistency and scaling of work and teams are driven by the platform and applied to build a reusable portfolio of data products. Your role will be key to defining, implementing, and continually improving these patterns.

As Head of General Ledger Data Product Owner, you’ll be engaging right across the business to agree data requirements and lead design and build iterations for the ledger. We have extensible data products, that are discoverable and understood and can be easily maintained. This role is at the heart of our data delivery and is a brilliant chance to define real change and create re-usability is to get the most out of the significant spending on data.
What we're looking for
Essential skills
- Developing and delivering data roadmaps and plans and achieving outcomes that support the organisation's Data strategy, with focus on modernisation of the Group’s ledger function.
- Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic data challenges and communicate and connect with simplicity and impact.
- Highly adept at articulating a product vision and roadmap to stakeholders up to Group Executive level to take them on the journey and relate the value to their business areas.
- Responsible for developing and delivering a major part of the organisation's data product development programme; enabling overall corporate strategy driving decisions, reuse of data for insight and analytics.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions or defining problems ideally in a data analytics and machine learning environment is preferred.
