Details of the role and team
Our Credit Risk Technology teams are responsible for delivering solutions which will improve data quality, automate workflow, and enhance risk analysis and reporting for the Credit Risk Management (CRM) function and Front Office.
The Financial Resource Management (FRM) Programme within Risk Technology is responsible for remediation of critical regulatory findings related with Loss Given Default (LGD)/ Probability of Default (PD) / Credit Conversion Factor (CCF) models across Wholesale, Retail and Wealth Management businesses.
You’ll work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team. You’ll be someone who sees engineering as a team activity, with a predisposition to service-oriented application design, open code, open discussion and creating a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll be ready to contribute to all stages of software delivery, from initial analysis right through to production support.

Your key responsibilities
- Driving data modelling discussion, design and implementation for the Program. Working with senior business stakeholders, Product Owners and Data Analysts to define the target state Data Model
- Management of metadata and data dictionary. Understanding of enterprise data model concepts.
- Contribute to the architecture, design, and development of software solutions to business problems, working both autonomously when required, and collaborating effectively as part of a multi-location development team. Work closely with business owners, management stakeholders, architects, developers, and other technologists to ensure the best solution is built.
- Own problems, seek help, provide guidance, apply diligence and resourcefulness to manage expectations of both IT and business stakeholders
- Understand, apply and follow agile practices including code reviews and automated testing
Your skills and experience
- Detailed understanding of Financial Services, Corporate and Investment Banking Products; ideally experience of Risk Management systems
- Detailed understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, and designing databases for performance and maintenance.
- Advanced data analysis skills, proficient at SQL on major RDBMS (Relational Database Management system) systems. Experience of modelling tools such as PowerDesigner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication: ability to simply express complex topics
- Exposure to Traditional and Big Data Reporting Frameworks, OLAP (Online analytical processing) solutions and Cloud technologies are advantageous
- Experience of Agile Development including Scrum, Kanban, XP (Extreme Programming). Exposure to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) beneficial.
