Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity with the Home Delivery planning team at our B&Q Branston site.
In this customer-focussed role, you will be responsible for the control of available capacity for one of the Home Delivery Networks. This will involve the production and analysis of reports to provide valuable information to the management team.
This role will evolve to include the planning of Home Delivery loads for which an element of shift work will be required. Someone from the Transport and Capacity Planning background will be ideal for the role.
Salary band - £29k to £32k per annum (dependant on experience)
Shift Pattern - anytime between 6am and 6pm, working 5 out 7 (rotating shift) - 8 hrs shift
How will you contribute?
- Control of capacity and lead time using Paragon HDX software
- Processing and analysing data to allow targets to be met
- Production of daily, weekly and period reports, as well as ad-hoc requirements
- Planning own fleet and dedicated sub-contractor fleet within the Home Delivery & Store Delivery Network
What will you bring?
- Educated to at least GCSE standard
- Advanced experience in using Microsoft Excel to analyse data from a variety of sources.
- Experience of a capacity management tool, in particular Paragon HDX, would be preferable.
- Route planning experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
- An understanding of logistics and transport networks
- Excellent attention to detail and good geographical knowledge
- Good communication and an ability to react quickly to what is a fast changing environment.
- To be able to effectively communicate with a Network of CDC’s, Store colleagues and internal departments
- Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a professional attitude
- Flexible approach and be willing to carry out varied tasks positively, reliably and accurately
- An excellent team player and able to work on own initiative
