Data Engineer x2 positions
Lloyds Banking Group
Bristol, Leeds, Halifax, Manchester or Edinburgh: Hybrid working arrangements - 2 days per week in the office and the rest from home
Salary & Benefits: £45,054 to £55,066 base salary, depending on experience.
Additional Package: Annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), flexible benefits system, private medical insurance, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Data & Machine Learning (DML) Platform, building and managing the future centralised nervous system for the Bank. We want to make banking safer, faster, and more effective. We’re in the midst of an exciting journey to modernise our capability onto Cloud technologies.
What will you focus on in this role?
You’ll work within a team of Data Platform Engineers reporting into a Lead Platform Engineer and support a range of activities centred around the building of data pipelines and associated configuration.
You’ll use SQL to work with our existing data warehouses / data lakes and support the transition to Google Cloud Platform, including supporting the Extract Transform & Load activities. You’ll also support setting up security & access management, plus contribute towards the design activities.
You’ll use your knowledge of data platform engineering to build and improve the reliability of our current data platforms.
You'll mature and automate our tooling, making us more responsive.
You'll support changing how we work by discovering new tools, methods, and approaches.
It's ok if one or two of these are things you're not used to. We want people who want to learn, grow and teach us something in the process.
So what experience & skills do I need to apply?
Lloyds Banking Group is made up of people from a range of roles and industry backgrounds, for this particular role we’ll be looking for the following within your application;
Career background as a data engineer or related role within the field of data. We find this level of role often suits people with up to 5 years’ experience. Data pipeline development experience within large data warehouses Cloud technology exposure, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP) but any will be considered. SQL coding skills (medium skill level) Desirable: Python or C# coding experience for configuration in cloud (low to medium skill level)
Training, support & development can be given for some of these elements.
