Join an exciting greenfield re-platforming project to establish the new data platform that will enable us to grow, innovate & optimise the business through improved visibility and data driven decision making.

Developing data end to end from initial acquisition through to analytical use whether this is internal reporting, customer facing features of our SaaS product or AI driven applications. Provision and support of relevant infrastructure and all analytical software.

Skills:

You will be T-shaped with experience in across areas such as batch & streaming data pipelines, the development of analytical data/semantic models, building dashboards & reports and advanced analytics methods (AI/ML, Cognitive Services, Predictive etc), and will have:

• Experience on the Azure data platform especially Azure Data Factory (ADF); Azure Storage (inc Data Lake Store); Snowflake DB or Azure SQL DW; Azure ML or Databricks and PowerBI.
• Expert level SQL skills
• Some programming/scripting experience e.g. Python, PowerShell
• Familiar with data modelling, data warehouse design and data lake concepts and practices
• An understanding of agile development practices, having worked successfully with agile delivery teams
• Knowledge of financial services

Key Responsibilities:

• Give technical leadership, fully participating in key technical decisions and discussions
• Set and champion best practices, standards, and processes to deliver high quality solutions - you set the tone through your software craftsmanship, contributing high quality code that can be changed with confidence
• Take responsibility for assisting the personal development of the other engineers on the team, mentoring, coaching and pairing with them
• Collaborating with the Product Owner and Agile Delivery Manager to shape the backlog, organise day to day work and maximise the productivity of the team
• Developing & managing end to end data pipelines from initial acquisition through to analytical use
• Providing an analytical ecosystem for our internal users for deep dive analytical activity on data from both internal and external sources
• Designing and documenting solutions appropriately
