Data Engineer - Salary National up to £35,000 / London up to £45,000

Within one of our Data Engineering teams we are looking for an individual who is passionate about data to work within our mulit cloud environment to h elp shape the future of insurance through cutting-edge predictive analytics and Data Science.

A bit about the job:

Data is the life blood of any modern organisation and Aviva is no different. Our Data Engineering teams sits within Aviva's Quantum Data Science Practise (covering areas including Machine Learning, Analytics, Data Engineering, AI, etc) but also services Claimsl, Pricing, Financial Crimes, Fraud and Underwriting with the data they need to provide our customers with the best products.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and robust code in SQL or Python. Scala, Java or similar languages would be advantageous but not required.
• Experience in data pipeline engineering and best practice in SQL and python. Working with Oracle and Snowflake are desirable.
• Deep understanding and expertise of data engineering concepts and best practices when working in cloud environments (e.g. AWS & OCI)
• Experience in Data Quality Assessment (profiling, anomaly detection) and data documentation (schema, dictionaries)
• Experience with CI/CD setup

• Starting salary up to £35,000 and £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
