Are you a skilled and innovative Data Engineer with a passion for architecting robust data pipelines? As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that enable the storage, processing, and analysis of large volumes of data. Your coordination, transformation, and delivery of data will be instrumental in helping us build a direct data offering for our growing customer base. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Data Engineer to make a significant impact in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow and integration from various sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet business needs.
- Develop and implement data models, schemas, and database designs to support data storage and retrieval.
- Identify opportunities for data quality improvement and implement data governance practices to maintain high standards of data integrity.
- Optimize data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency, leveraging cloud-based technologies and services.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather data requirements, provide insights, and support data-driven decision-making processes.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data engineering and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid experience as a Data Engineer, working on designing and building data pipelines and data processing systems.- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies (relational and/or NoSQL).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services (S3, Snowflake, DMS, etc.).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance, data security, and privacy practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data requirements.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
You are an ideal candidate if:
You have a strong academic record (CS degree preferred but not required with relevant experience).- At least 3 years of professional data engineering experience.
Starting Salary Range: $110,000 - $115,000
Location: Although this is a remote position, we are targeting candidates who live in the following states: OR, WA, AZ, MN, CO, NV, ID, TX, MA, MD, OH, TN. We do have an amazing office in Portland, OR, available for anyone interested in working hybrid.
