As an IT Data Classification Analyst, you will be working in a critical cyber security data analyst function for the correct classification of business data. It is a fundamental compliance & gatekeeper role for the release of secure communications to ensure we are compliant with our security posture.

What you will be doing:
You will apply a methodical & consistent application of data classification and security standards to assess email content and attachments prior to their release.
  • Have an attention to detail to ensure that data classification and security standard compliance guidance is continually updated for the email release function as per guidance from IT Security.
  • Make on data classification & review, communicating security decisions & outcomes to business colleagues and end users, professionally and with courtesy.
  • Be responsible for defining the requirements for opportunities for automation (including firewall ruleset) for continuous service improvement and function efficiency.
  • Support service delivery and project delivery in an assurance capacity acting as data classification specialist/SME.
  • Knowledge of using Service Management toolsets (ServiceNow) would be desirable.

  • Demonstrate experience of making judgements as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in their career.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate experience of maintaining process discipline and rigour to deliver agreed quality outcomes.
  • Have knowledge & experience in undertaking IT Security (Cybersecurity) and data classification principles defined for data assurance practices within an organisation.
  • Desirable: Qualifications in IT Security e.g., BCS CISMP.
  • Desirable: Experience of working in the Defence Industry sector with an appreciation of Export Control principles & their application.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
