What you’ll do:
You’ll work within People and Places, who work hard to ensure that our people to love to work at LBG, supporting the Group to Help Britain Prosper.
You’ll gain experience in one of our teams who are responsible for analysing, reporting and visualising key data. Whether it’s managing the data to ensure it is of the highest quality, using the data to help inform decisions or upskilling the stakeholders in ways to use data to make decisions. The role provides an excellent opportunity to build core data skills and gain experience through a mixture of formal and on-the-job training.
About the programme & what you’ll learn:
Starting in September 2023, you’ll be supported through a fully funded Level 4 – Data Analyst apprenticeship professional qualification – delivered by our trusted partner Firebrand, You’ll also be supported in work by your Line Manager, in work Buddy and Apprenticeship Learning Mentor.
Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘Mandatory Apprenticeship Hours’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading, completing assignments etc. This means 80% of your role is applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe and supportive environment.

By the end of this programme, not only will you have a Level 4 – Data Analyst qualification, you’ll have a clear path for progression within Lloyds Banking Group and a firm understanding of your strengths and career goals.
As part of this role you’ll learn to…
- Identify data for analysis based upon requirements
- Manipulate, merge and link different data sets as required
- Establish reporting needs and draw recommendations
- Compile data in preparation for analysis
- Compile data from multiple sources including data bases, spreadsheets and reports
- Interpret and apply the organisations data and information security standards, policies and procedures to data management activities
- Perform database queries across multiple tables to extract data for analysis
- Schedule and automate queries
- Use data mining tools to discover useful patterns in large data sets
- Apply the tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation and presentation
- Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders making recommendations
- Use data and commercial knowledge to extract insight from analysis to assist with decision making
- Communicate complex ideas simply through a strong commercial story
- Use exciting and impactful data visualisations
- Present results verbally and via written reports
Entry requirements:
We expect you to be motivated, ambitious and committed to your own development. In particular, you’ll be keen to get to grips with new systems and processes.
In order to complete an apprenticeship, there needs to be a significant learning commitment. You need to consider your previous qualifications or significant relevant work experience which may mean you cannot proceed with this application.
What this means is if you have higher qualifications in computer science or you have previous experience in this type of role, you may be over-qualified for this position.
The minimum qualifications required are:
- Minimum 5 GCSEs Grades 4 - 9 or equivalent (including Maths and English) AND
- At least one A-Level or equivalent by September 2023
Please note - these can include predicted grades.
Application Process:
After submitting your initial application, you’ll be required to complete a Job Insight Assessment, which includes a Numerical Reasoning Test. If successful at this stage, you’ll be invited to attend a virtual assessment centre as part of the selection process. We’ll let you know as soon as we can if you have been successful at each stage.
