About the role
We push the boundaries of what others have defined as possible. Our engineering approach starts with different thinking. Then we continuously refine our ideas – unwilling to compromise and driven by an obsession for finding a better way. Today we employ more than 5,800 people around the world in software engineering, mechanical engineering and science related roles.
You will join the Data and Analytics team in our world class Research Design and Development department. We are responsible for global reporting and analysis of projects during product development. The team play a vital role in supporting the engineering function of over 4000 technicians, scientists and engineers worldwide enabling Dyson to deliver new products to market every year.
Data Analysts are involved in a wide range of activities, from information gathering, capturing requirements, building reports, writing code and sharing insights with our stakeholders. You display excellent business focus and sound technical skills and could be involved with any of the following:
Supporting the team in maintaining existing reports and dashboards
Capturing clear requirements directly from business stakeholders
Developing great relationships with business teams by fully empathising with their needs
Creating analytical solutions that impress, inspire and become essential tools
Communicating insights to a wide audience
Using graphical skills to share key news stories
Working with the team and interacting across business stakeholders, you’ll be comfortable learning from others but also sharing your own knowledge, ideas and opinions.
For the duration of your internship, you will have regular performance conversations as well as opportunities for development to enable you to build your reputation within the wider team and we’ll be looking to offer our high performing interns the opportunity to return on our graduate programme.

About you
Our roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so you will need to be:
Be working towards a degree discipline in any relevant subject area and be interested in data and how it is presented to aid decision making.
Be in your penultimate year of your undergraduate or combined masters degree programme (exceptions allowed for 5 year programmes with a placement in the third year).
Able to evidence how you have applied your knowledge to solve problems, either through your university projects or as part of your extra-curricular activities
An enthusiastic individual who is a great communicator and loves to use data to share insights with others.
Enthusiastic about data analysis and presentation to aid decision making.
Graphic design or artistic skills to present data in a compelling way.
Happy to build your own networks to learn from the technical expertise around you.
Creative problem solver with the ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment.
Passionate about Dyson and our technology to help us meet our ambitious future plans.
