The Data Analyst (Microsoft/Azure) is a key role that will deliver accurate and actionable insights to a team working to provide communication and collaboration services across organisations.
You will play a vital role in monitoring, reporting and ultimately securing the DWP IT Estate; ensuring that services and user capability is not affected as a result of potential malicious activity from either internal or external threat.

Job description
Every day is different, on any day you might be building relationships with teams, developing data capability, solving complex problems, or doing analysis on user behaviour.
You will be part of a data & analytics team, made up of engineers and analysts, working in Azure at the forefront of monitoring and analysis tooling.
You will work to help identify what the important measures are, and through analysis what key insights to share that will help iterate the service design / controls.
You will undertake investigation and analysis activities on multiple large continuous datasets, using query languages to model raw data (logs) into meaningful insight.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
Salary Information
Salary for this role is from £38,469 (Band min) to £41,480 (Band max).
The maximum salary for the grade is £41,480, however a Digital Allowance of up to £8,095 per annum is available for exceptional candidates, based on our assessment of your skills and experience.
Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.
Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.

Stage 2: Interview
If you’re successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the following Behaviours and Technical Skills:

You will be asked to do a short, 10 minutes presentation on a specific topic. Further details will be provided to candidates invited to interview.
