The A Side: A Day in The Life
Are you interested in working for the music industry? Would you like to help develop unique cutting-edge data science solutions to help drive innovation and creative data-driven strategies across Universal Music?
Universal Music UK is looking for a Data Analyst to become part of our in-house creative agency The Square. The role offers a unique opportunity to join us at the start a new chapter within data and technology, where we are looking to grow and expand on the foundation of work we’ve already begun.
The role is perfect for a candidate that is passionate about music, data and technology and has a thirst for acquiring, analysing and communicating knowledge through data. In a creative organisation such as ours, reducing a complex problem into something simple is key, so any experience managing clients would also be a strength.
As well as being proficient in SQL, you should have a strong grasp of ETL processes, advanced troubleshooting skills, the ability to run queries efficiently and a basic knowledge of statistical modelling, This role also requires data to be reduced to simple takeaways for clients, so strong communication and data visualisation skills are also essential. Any machine knowledge a bonus.
As The Square sits centrally, you’ll have a chance to work across all divisions, including frontline labels, our catalogue division UMR, our music content studio Mercury Studios and all other central agencies, as well as data teams within the business. This includes end-to-end product design from the inception of an idea to a fully working piece of technology that supports and supercharges the labels.
