Position

We are looking for a Data Analyst intern to join our London HQ Finance team for 12 months.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Business Controller and Controlling Director in understanding and evaluating financial performance of the business by establishing reports of actual results and performing variance analysis of MH Europe Middle East & Africa. Key to success is to manage big sets of data and bring them into a format that management can base their decisions on the analysis.
  • Coordinate with market Finance teams to consolidate market insights and management information for decision making
  • Business Partner with other Functions, Markets and Maisons for MH EMEA, providing strong financial support to different stakeholders.

ACTUAL REPORTING

  • Preparing the monthly reports (Volume, Revenue, Variance Analysis, PnL, Mid-month forecast)
  • Preparing the quarterly reports - New Brands Dashboard, Quarterly Financial Report etc..

FORECAST (Budget, LE1/LE2, R&O, PMT)

  • Helping develop and maintain excel files for Forecasting, Risk & Opportunities (R&O), Budget (including landing) and PMT (Strategic Planning) processes

IT / DATA

  • Maintain reporting and consolidation files on a regular basis
  • Manipulate and visualize big data sets with different tools to empower Management for effective decision taking (such as Power BI etc.)
  • Develop dynamic ways to present reports to the management and other users
  • Consolidation of data and development of internal reports
  • Improve the ways of working existing internal reports to gain efficiency

ANALYSIS & BUSINESS PARTNERING

  • Support the team to create pertinent presentation for Senior Executive meetings
  • Ad-hoc analysis of business results for different stakeholders
  • Be a business partner of the new projects/key topics driven in Europe, provide the team with new ideas, new technical solutions and concretize the analysis to achieve the business objective


Profile

PROFILE


Technical skills:

Ø Strong analytical skills, with full proficiency in Excel and PowerBI

Ø Min. 6 months previous internship / apprenticeship in a data analyst role (or similar)

Ø Nice to have (not mandatory): Data visualization tools such as QlikSense/ANAPLAN; Knowledge of programming such as R or Python


Soft skills:

Ø Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Ø Excellent interpersonal, communication skills

Ø Strongly motivated and able to take initiative

Ø Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and to improve ways of working

Ø Action and result oriented, driving improved performance

Ø Good communicator at all levels and functions of the business


Education:

Ø Bachelor's or Master's degree


Mandatory languages:

Ø Fluent in English, another European language is a plus
