The role:
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team. This is a brand new role for the business and will play a pivotal part in managing the performance of our energy portfolio.
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be responsible for creating and collating data to interrogate and interpret energy consumption trends. You will work with operational teams to develop strategies to ensure consumption performance is in line with budget. You’ll analyse past and present data to feed into pricing models and financial projections.
You’ll support with the validation of billing, report on the completeness of meter reads and invoicing data across our energy portfolio. Your analysis will drive campaigns to reduce consumption, improve our sustainability and gather meter readings.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement energy consumption reporting across the portfolio using a variety of data sets from billing, meter readings and industry estimates.
- Identify high consumption properties where further action is required and collaborate with the operational teams to reduce consumption.
- Conduct regular analysis of meter read completeness and work with the marketing team to create targeted meter read campaigns.
- Identify where a smart meter rollout should be focussed.
- Report on data completeness and accuracy across our energy portfolio.
- Support the finance team with invoice validation, with the potential to own the process long term.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting across the wider utilities portfolio which includes Water, Internet and TV Licencing.
Skills and experience:
- Min. 3 years’ experience as a data analyst.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical experience in a similar analyst role.
- Extensive experience working with data using various tools and programming languages such as SQL, Visual Basic, Macros, Python.
- Ability and experience of owning projects and being self-sufficient.
- Confident in communicating results and insights in clear and cohesive way.
- Ability to influence colleagues at all levels based on data insight.
- Tenacity to highlight problems, understand them in-depth and solve them.
- Energy industry knowledge would be ideal or transferrable financial or research experience.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
