Job description
We are seeking a Reporting and Data Analyst to support our organization’s goals through data analytics and data visualization, with an emphasis on data completeness, timeliness and consistency. Working with the Director of Impact Measurement, the successful candidate will be involved in team meetings to gain an understanding of the needs of impoverished communities and the roles that our programs play in them.
Please note that this job opening is for Canada Summer Jobs applicants only, who must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with the Employment and Social Development Canada as outlined:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Apply data analysis to break down tactical hypotheses and provide insights and recommendations
- Use Salesforce to generate regular and ad-hoc reports, visualizations and dashboard to effectively communicate data driven facts, trends, and insights
- Conduct supplemental analysis as required using CRM Analytics and Excel
- Attend departmental meetings to understand the various report needs by our programs including: housing, food bank, employment services, street involved youth, community development and family services.
- Secondary responsibilities: help develop training documentation and how-to guides for Report generation
Qualifications:
- University degree in a field such as Business Analysis, Quantitative Methods, Research or Computer Science
- Strong sense of social responsibility, with an intrinsic desire to help others less fortunate
- Analytical mind and love of problem-solving
- Ability to tell stories through data, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and theory generation
- Knowledge of CRM Analytics (formerly Tableau), Power BI and Excel (preferred)
