Job description

Data Analyst

The agricultural industry is undergoing a profound change. Data and technology give farmers the opportunity to reverse the long-term decline in profitability, safeguard the environment, and open a new era of smart professional farming.

Want to make a difference?

YAGRO is an established leader in AgTech software. Our team comprises farmers, entrepreneurs, and technologists passionate about providing structure, verification and clarity to farm data, to empower forward-thinking farms who are looking for knowledge and insights to inform their decision-making.

We are operating within an industry characterised by manual processes and poor information exchange. We need to distil a complex and opaque supply chain with multiple actors into a simple, elegant and scalable multi-user platform, with industry-leading analytics and data insight and a flawless user experience.

Our four core principles at YAGRO

Farmer First

We are and always will be farmer first. YAGRO was founded to provide solutions to farmers, and that will always be at the forefront of our minds as we develop our tools.

Empower the Industry

We aim to lead by example, such as shining a light on the importance of data ownership and by setting the Gold Standard of data rights for the industry.

Seeking Facts and Providing Insight

Question everything, challenge anything, seek and provide facts in order to deliver value in all facets of our work.

Being 'Best and Fair'

We strive to provide an environment that allows each member of the team and our customers to have an equal voice and feel valued.

The opportunity is massive. Come capture it with us.

Are you up for the challenge?

We have a great problem to solve: we have partnered with leading farm advisory companies to drive adoption of our technology across UK farms, and unlock ever greater value from data. We need to rapidly scale our data capacity to reach these Partners and farming costumers demands – that’s where you come in.

We are looking for a smart, driven individual to join us. You will be a key part of our team from day one, working with our large data sets to feed and improve our services.

This will include helping to process and analyse farm business data, and using the gathered data to generate trends and insights, through statistical manipulations.

You will push the boundaries of our automated data processing and insights creation, using the latest database tools including machine learning and AI.

You will be in a position to shape the future of our services and the company, we want to hear your ideas.

The role is flexible, and we will tailor it around your skills and preferences, ensuring you get the best possible experience for your continuing career. For the right person, there is rapid opportunity for development in YAGRO. We will happily offer you all the responsibilities you can handle.

Why You?

· You want to make an impact. You’re driven, take initiative, and not afraid to take responsibility.

· You don’t need to have a background in agriculture – but you should feel strongly about our need for a strong and healthy food production industry.

· You love delving into details, finding truth and insight from data and have the ability to present your findings in an engaging way.

· You have a solid grasp of data tools and statistical analysis. You are proficient at Excel and SQL, and a working knowledge of Python would be a definite asset.

· You love learning.

· You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work well in a team.

· You know how to optimise your workload efficiently and can juggle multiple tasks and priorities, with a knack for keeping things organised.

· You have problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges and find innovative solutions.

· Above all, you’re excited by our vision and share our core values: we’re always learning; always looking for new challenges; we inspire each other; we are open and honest; we trust each other and aren’t afraid to give or accept responsibility and autonomy; and we have fun!

Why Us?

We are dedicated to fairness with the same expectations of honesty, integrity, equity and opportunity at every level and corner of the business.

We are committed to advancing, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion. As a team of individuals, one person’s Sunday woodland dog walk might be another person’s all day Dungeons and Dragons session!

We have opportunities of every shape and size and are here to support flexible, remote and part-time working as much as full-time office working.

No matter your circumstances we understand that work/life balance brings out the best in people, and that balance is different for everybody. If you feel you have the skills to fulfil the role, then we want to hear from you.

As an equal-opportunity employer, we will never make judgments based on Age, Sex, Race, Disability, Pregnancy, Marital status, Sexual orientation, Gender reassignment, Religious background or any other characteristic unrelated to the position.

As an equal-opportunity employer, we will provide you with additional resources or tools you may need to carry out your role efficiently. Equity is more important to us than Equality. Not everyone is the same, but everyone does deserve the same opportunities.
