Salary: £28,371 to £31,099 per annum.
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week.
Contract Length: Permanent.
Location: Shoreham, with requirement to come in twice a week with hybrid working opportunities. Ability to attend meetings across Sussex and Surrey on occasion.
As a Data Analyst you will play a critical part in our Highways, Transport and Planning directorate. Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Collect, process, and analyse data.
- Support Sussex Safer Roads Partnership's statutory, strategic, and operational responsibilities.
- Provide information for effective performance measurement and monitoring.
- Help inform planning decisions.
- Utilize and disseminate information to meet objectives and responsibilities.
You will need to be able to create spreadsheets and databases and interrogate GIS to accurately report on performance and identify trends. You will need to be able to draw on information from different sources such as police data and national research in order to undertake benchmarking and inform the development of performance measures and assessment.
There will be a requirement to visit the office regularly and attend meetings across Sussex and Surrey on occasion.
This role would suit people who have:
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to research and analyse data from a variety of sources and produce qualitative information.
- Highly computer literate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advisory, negotiation and persuasion skills to encourage others to adopt a particular course of action.
- Sound problem solving skills.
- Relevant degree, or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of applied knowledge in data/information management.
- In depth and significant theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of data collection, data management and complex statistical analysis.
- Broad based knowledge of relevant service units, organisational policies, procedures and practices and performance measures.
- Demonstrable evidence of developing data management systems.
- Demonstrable evidence of organising and handling large amounts of data and of producing high quality reports in order to inform business decision making.
