Through monitoring and accurate analysis of sales trends and customer buying patterns, we aim to give our customers the highest possible service level, in the style that best suits their needs - whether this is by special offers tailored to their individual interests, or presenting simple changes they could make in their buying habits to save money.
As a Data Analyst, you will assist with the associated data extraction, collation, analysis and reporting required to successfully manage the company’s commercial performance, and deliver the best possible value to our customers.
Overview:
§ Working with data sets from across the business in order to solve business problems and deliver reports to colleagues across different departments
§ Using data analysis to understand our customers and gain insights into their purchasing habits, and use this to deliver the best possible customer experience by uniquely tailoring the way we interact with them
§ Optimise sales margins through analysing customer buying habits to identify areas where margins could be improved by switching out one product for another, to optimise their product mix and pricing plan
§ Developing data projects to enhance our understanding of our customer base, allowing us to provide our sales team with targeted insights to help them maximise their results
§ Automating data processes between our source data and the visualisations presented to the user
§ Presenting data insights in a meaningful way to a variety of users across the business
Person Specification:
To be successful in this role, you will be required to be:-
- Qualified in a relevant subject, such as Data Science or another quantitative course- preferably to degree level, but the right candidate with equivalent experience would also be suitable
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel- experience in a programming language such as R would be an advantage
- Experience of a BI visualisation tool such as Power BI would also be an advantage
- Analytical and methodical with strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Knowledgeable on data analysis and machine learning techniques
- Keen to learn and build an understanding of our products, our markets and our customers
- Committed and driven to deliver accurate and timely reports and insights to bring value to the business
