As our graphic designer, you'll create eye-catching visuals for a variety of products and activities, such as:
- websites
- magazines
- advertising
- product packaging
- brand communications
- overall brand identity
After agreeing a brief with the managing director and magazine editor you'll develop appropriate creative ideas and concepts that meet the brands objectives.
The work demands:

· Genuine interest in magazines and editorials.
· An understanding of copy and design working hand in hand.
· Ability to manage small details alongside big picture thinking.
· Up-to-date knowledge of the food industry and a professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines.
Responsibilities
As our graphic designer you'll need to:
- estimate the time required to complete a job.
- develop design briefs that suit the brand’s purpose.
- think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
- present finalised ideas and concepts to team
- work with a range of media, including web, print and packaging.
- proof-read to produce accurate and high-quality work.
- demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches and work on layouts ready for print.
- commission illustrators, photographers, and other team members.
- work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
Skills
Apart from technical and drawing skills, you'll need to show:
- passion and enthusiasm for design, with a creative flair.
- a flexible approach when working in a team.
- excellent communication skills.
- good presentation skills and the confidence to explain ideas to colleagues and multiple levels within the business up to and including the owner.
- time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at once.
- accuracy and attention to detail when finalising designs.
- being open to feedback and willing to make changes to your designs.
Salary
- Starting salaries for this role is £25,000 per annum + pension and benefits.
- 28 days annual leave including bank holidays.

Working hours
Working hours are typically 40 hours a week, sometimes with some flexibility around start and finish times. It's likely that you'll have to work extra hours when deadlines are approaching.
This role provides the opportunity to work within a fast paced group of brands across multiple regions with a clear career path for the successful individual.As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for designing marketing material for a wide range of products. The successful candidate will have a willingness to learn about new products, and create designs that are easy to read and aesthetically pleasing. The candidate will also be expected to have some knowledge of marketing techniques and be able to edit material to fit the requirements of the company.
