Job description
The Data Estate team is on a mission to enhance the value of our data and to transform the culture at Virgin Media O2 towards data as a strategic asset. Our teams are building state of the art data governance and privacy capabilities, optimising consents and opt-ins and exploiting data monetization opportunities anchored in a relationship with our customers of trust, transparency and control.
High-performing team-play is what we’re about. We’re pushing each other outside of our comfort zones, leaning on each other as we learn and grow in a culture of openness, vulnerability, unconditional support and the ability to laugh together.
Location:
London (Hammersmith) or Reading with flexible working patterns to allow home remote working.
The Role:
The quality of our data is critical so we are looking for an experienced Data Quality Analyst to join our growing team. You will be the front line of our mission to improve the quality of our data to unlock its true value.
- Can you support us in our goal to continually improve the quality of our data?
- Could you be part of the team that creates a modern Data Quality as Code capability?
- Are you up for taking a fresh approach to operationalising data quality?
If so, this role is for you!
As a Data Quality Analyst, you’ll be responsible for:
- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Hands on experience of data quality on a Cloud platform
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of best practices in data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in business terms
- Ideally, experience using Jira and Confluence
Must haves:
- A proven track record of designing, implementing and managing a data governance in a cloud environment
- Broad knowledge and deep practical experience in data management disciplines
- Innovative with commercial focus
- Proven experience of working effectively with stakeholders in specialist and technical roles, including Data Engineering and IT Architecture
- Proven experience of working collaboratively across boundaries to secure buy-in and create solutions that work for all stakeholders
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform
The other stuff we're looking for:
- An innovative and creative thinker, with the ability to apply problem-solving skills. We are building new capability, not following a well-trodden path.
- Be process-orientated and highly data centric for your decision making
- Great communication and presentation skills, particularly for less technically informed audiences.
- Collaborative and effective, a team player that gets the importance of culture and wants to win as a team
- Highly motivated and a self-starter
- Highly resilient and tenacious in approach; applying creative thinking to solve problems
- Open, supportive, focussed on personal development, learning and growth
What's in it for you?
We know that benefits mean so much more than the 'stuff' we can give you, so we offer a wide range of support, rewards and tools - all focused on helping you to prioritise what really matters.
All work and no play just isn't our style! We're already planning our future ways of working, for when life becomes a little more normal again. And it's fair to say, it'll offer great flexibility and always put wellbeing at the top of the table. We're open to chatting about flexible working (so don't be worried to ask the question). Every role is different, so where we can, we'll work with you to achieve the right balance.
If you go on to be successful in your application, some of the many benefits you'll get are:
- 25 days annual leave, plus UK Bank Holidays + Your birthday off every year, to treat yourself.
- A defined contribution pension scheme, run by Fidelity, matched up to 10%.
- Access to wellbeing benefits such as the Unmind App, personal medical cover (which you can opt to upgrade to cover loved ones) and critical illness cover.
- {Season ticket loans}
- The option to buy and sell holiday to suit your jet setting lifestyle.
Next Steps:
If you think you've got some outstanding skills to offer us, and Virgin Media feels like a place where you can belong, we'd love to learn more about you. If your application is successful, the next steps of the process are likely to include an initial telephone conversation with a member of our Recruitment team, followed by a competency-based video interview with the Hiring Manager.
When you apply, you'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know and we'll be sure to discuss it with you.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media family
