Pay Range: $67,070 - $108,990 / annual

General Responsibilities
The HR Data Analyst provides professional level support for all aspects of major Human Resources programs and initiatives impacting UAB Medicine. This position works with various systems, associated systems, databases, and modules that comprise UAB Medicine HR operations. This position will collect, compile, and analyze HR data and metrics, including development of visualizations to present to leadership with recommendations and insights.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Performs data analytic duties:
a. Participates in the collection, calculation, reporting and analysis of HR metrics
b. Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing HR information systems to gather data for analysis
c. Produces reports, dashboards, and presentations utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, Tableau, and/or other data processing/visualization tool from data extracted from various HR information systems and other data sources
d. Develops methods for the ongoing tracking of identified metrics – potential areas for reporting include, but are not limited to, turnover and retention, recruitment, compensation, performance management, employee engagement, training and development, workforce demographics, benchmark comparisons, and HR operations
e. Interprets results from analysis and advises HR and organization leaders
f. Produces both routine and ad hoc reports
g. Prepares procedures for thorough documentation of processes
2. Collaborates with systems analysts:
a. May collaborate or serve as backup administrator for various HR systems including but not limited to Leader Evaluation Manager (LEM), performance evaluation system, and applicant tracking system (ATS)
3. Performs survey administration:
a. May assist with employee related survey efforts as requested by UAB Medicine leadership including hierarchy planning, data organization, creating participant files
b. Serves as resources for assigned departments during all phases of survey administration
c. Aides with results analysis through preparing routine reports and providing leadership with interpretation of results
4. Participates in continuous quality improvements:
a. Proactively participate in job-related meetings/webinars and other activities to achieve and maintain a high level of expertise of working and enhancing functionality of the system(s)
b. Assists with validating data integrity and management of data interfaces
5. Supports functional operations of HR:
a. Attend staff meetings and completes all mandatory training
b. Participate in HR functions impacting all HR staff
c. May lead projects and activities

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field, and two (2) years of equivalent experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Strong experience with HR system data management and reporting required. Experience with Tableau, Access, SPSS, and/or SharePoint preferred.
