Quantitative Data Analyst – Quantitative Trading Data Science - Quantitative Trading Solutions
Location: St Paul’s, London
The Background

The Group employs almost 300 staff, predominately at its central London HQ, and has two principal divisions, Sporting Index – a B2C operation, the pre-eminent sports spread betting company, and Sporting Solutions, a rapidly growing B2B operation which supplies real-time pricing and sports trading capabilities to sportsbooks around the globe.
The Quantitative Trading Solutions department is one focussed on delivering Trading Models and bespoke Tooling using mathematical expertise and highly skilled software development. The Quantitative Trading Solutions service is continually deployable and utilises a variety of .NET and open source technologies to enable high performance and reliability.
Within the wider team the Data Science function is responsible for ensuring data analysis drives model development forward in a continuous improvement cycle, uses the most up to date techniques to provide key insight for business decisions and provides bespoke interactive viewpoints on data to help trading practices.

The Role
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Create statistical and machine learning models to expand and enhance model performance
- Analyse model performance and provide detailed insight into areas of improvement
- Assist in development of new data driven methodologies
- Create and maintain visualisation and analysis tools for stakeholders around the business
- Provide solutions to data analysis problems as required by the business
A successful candidate will also be expected to take ownership of new and existing features by:
- Working closely with the business to understand requirements
- Building strong relationships across the business with other teams
- Seeing work through to delivery and maintaining accordingly
The Person
The successful candidate should have:
- PhD, Masters or Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields
- Highly proficient in at least one programming language, ideally either R or Python
- Knowledge of statistical and machine learning modelling techniques
- Good knowledge of accessing data from relational databases
- Excellent communication skills, able to understand and translate complex technical information to others
- Interest in sports and understanding of sports modelling
- Ability to solve problems and detail reason on the methods chosen
