Responsibilities:
  • Think creatively and build solutions such as forecast models, maps, and reports to deliver the information for healthcare leaders to make important operational and strategic decisions.
  • All of the technical work that goes with an analytical role, from data extract and transformation to building of compelling visual summaries of complex information, to quality assurance.
  • Use your creativity and problem-solving skills to overcome difficult technical obstacles.
  • Constantly challenge yourself to automate standard work and develop efficient and reliable ways of doing the work.
  • Be part of a new and growing team, while learning the ins and outs of how the Canadian healthcare system works.
Requirements:
  • Technical skills for data analysis such as such as R, Python, DAX, M, ETL (Power Query), SQL
  • Proficiency in statistics including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimation, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with any business intelligence (BI) reporting tool, especially Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and EPIC
  • Experience with processing and manipulating large datasets through SQL Server Management Studio (ranking, sorting, percentiles) and Excel (pivot tables, filters, formulas, macros etc.)
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and balance between multiple projects
  • A proven self-starter, who has no limits in their ability to learn new tools.
  • Pride in doing great work, a mindset of taking things to the finish line, and attention to detail.
Asset:
  • Previous healthcare experience including knowledge of CIHI datasets such as DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS, HCRS).
  • Knowledge CIHI/MoHLTC methodologies (HSFR, HSMR, RIW, HIG, MIS Guidelines).
  • Knowledge of Access to Care/Cancer Care Ontario datasets and Business Intelligence tools (WTIS, ALC, ER, SetP, iPort).
