The ideal candidate will not only possess a high degree of technical acumen but also a strong ability to communicate complex data in a digestible way for various stakeholders. The ability to partner closely with IT to migrate data from source systems into Power BI will be an important part of this role.
We are seeking a self-starter, someone who takes complete ownership of their work, with a high degree of initiative, accountability, and professional integrity.
While the work can be delivered remotely, preference will be given to qualified candidates who can occasionally work in-person at our Reston, Virginia office.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining interactive talent dashboards in Power BI for HR and business leaders
- Importing, connecting, and transforming talent data using SQL, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and M-Query.
- Partnering with IT to migrate data from HR source systems into the Power BI environment
- Analyzing, interpreting, and deriving insights from talent data using a variety of tools, including Microsoft Excel
- Implementing and managing row-level security within Power BI
- Providing clear and concise communication of data insights to senior leadership in a way that facilitates decision making
- Conducting data analysis in MS Excel, including the creation and management of complex spreadsheets
- Occasionally creating reports in HR source systems like Workday and the iCIMS applicant tracking system
- Owning and managing the quality of data reports and visualizations
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, programming, complex querying, and database management
- Demonstrated success using SQL, DAX, M-Query and Power BI to build dashboards to influence executive-level decision-making
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using Excel
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to own results and demonstrate accountability
- Working knowledge of Synapse data warehouse
- Experience with HR-related data
- Familiarity with Workday and the iCIMS applicant tracking system, especially report generation
- Experience consulting with senior-level clients on how to use data to inform decision-making, especially in an HR environment
