Responsibilities & Qualifications:We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Tobin team. In this role, you will utilize statistical analysis to identify issues with our different datasets. You will document the issues and assist in developing strategies for correcting the issues. You will draw strong business and quality insights from data through complex analysis, mining, and visualization. You will leverage your technical skills and creative thinking to solve problems and make quantitative recommendations to leadership and project team(s). You will be responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, quality, and retrieval of processed data. You will construct detailed data analytic visualizations to demonstrate potential operational insight for customers. You will serve as a research focal point, evaluating new data sourcing avenues, analyze data from third party resources for quality, feasibility, and other logistics. You will help evaluate/facilitate potential new data products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Strong collaboration with operational teams to understand data needs and priorities, identify opportunities for analytics services while operationalizing resulting analytics tools or reports, and discovery of any data product gaps or quality challenges
- Educate staff on how to utilize data to inform strategy and business decisions
- Maintain the highest standards for data ethics, accuracy, collection, and transparency in data collection and analysis methodologies
- Independently interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data and publications flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to workflow processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection, processing, and delivery
- Builds data visualization products/processes, or workflows that can assist internal or external customers in more efficiently utilizing data product
- Detailed knowledge of key concepts, terminology, and processes of assigned discipline
- Lead the IFS Tobin effort to align our different data models with industry standard schemas
- Establish routine audits of data in alignment with P2 Tobin quality model and implement remedies for deficiencies
- Provide auditing of data in alignment with P2 Tobin quality model and develop specific actionable remedies for deficiencies
Technical Ability:
- Master knowledge of business operations, decision and intelligence systems concepts, database structures, and/or geographic information systems
- Strong SQL skills (postgres & oracle)
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal, business, and technical communication skills; strong collaboration and able to take initiative
- Well organized and efficient with keen judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong analytical skills and use of appropriate tools to interrogate, visualize, interpret and integrate information from multiple sources to execute effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Associate degree, preferred in research/data science-based disciplines (statistics, mathematics, economics, information systems/technology, business) or
- 3-7 years professional experience
